Aruba’s coastline is famous for its sunsets, as most resorts face Westward. This makes shooting a good sunrise a challenge in Aruba, requiring some good planning and persistence. I spent this Thursday early morning at the California Lighthouse, arriving just before dawn, a thick blanket of Saharan dust was in the air which diffused the early light into an intense, molten-gold glow. A single gull drifted by, riding the trade winds, just as I captured this moment. It was a scene as fleeting as it was striking—definitely worth the effort.
